The PDO AfterGlo Skin Treatment is an exciting, patented blend of polydioxanone (PDO) powder and hyaluronic acid (HA). It is being used as a skin treatment or booster. It is a safe and effective option for improvement of photodamaged skin.

The PDO powder are microspheres made out of the same material as PDO threads. These micro particles are suspended in HA and sterile water, making the particles soluble. The blend is placed into the dermis at different depths depending on the method. Polydioxanone is known to aid the production of collagen and increase skin elasticity.

The treatment can be applied after fractionated laser and micro needling treatments. It can also be performed as a standalone treatment combined with other products using a “stamping tool” similar to AquaGold. 

We generally recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced every 4 weeks. We will then reassess the skin and decide whether additional treatments are needed or whether we would be putting you on a maintenance interval of one treatment every 6 months. 

As a standalone treatment there is minimal to no downtime and when it is paired with a more aggressive treatment like laser resurfacing, it can actually minimize the downtime usually experienced.

The skin looks brighter, tighter and more hydrated almost immediately after the first treatment, but we recommend three initially followed by maintenance treatments every 6 months.
